The justice system of Río Negro has charged a man with stabbing his wife during the 'Boca Juniors Fan Day' celebration in the city of San Carlos de Bariloche.
According to information published on the official website of the Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF), which was accessed by the Argentine News Agency, the incident occurred on the evening of Friday, December 12, on the streets of Onelli and Sobral, where the victim was with a friend.
On that occasion, the suspect allegedly used a knife to kill the victim, who suffered an abdominal wound. She was urgently taken to a local hospital due to initial hypovolemic shock.
The woman remains in serious condition and at risk of life, while witnesses have identified the accused as the presumed perpetrator of the attack.
During the hearing, the Guaranteies Court judge approved the charges filed by the prosecution and charged the man with the crimes of doubly qualified homicide due to the relationship and for being committed by a man against woman with gender-based violence (femicide), in attempted degree.
The suspect will be held in preventive custody until April 15 of the following year.
